1. What is Vertical Dryer?

Vertical Dryer, named vertical drying tower also, is an industrial equipment that adopts a vertical multi-layer structure and uses gravity drop and hot air circulation to achieve continuous drying of materials. It is mainly used to process block or granular materials (such as shaped coal, grain, etc.) with high requirements for morphological integrity.

2.  What is the main structure of Vertical Dryer?

2-1 Vertical Drying Box/Frame:

It is composed of inner and outer double walls, with an insulation layer (such as aluminum silicate fiber) in the middle to reduce heat loss;

Hot air channels and interlayers are set inside the tower for material falling and drying.

2-2 Heat Source System:

Heat source device: supports gas furnace, electric heating or steam heat exchanger, and the hot air temperature range is 50℃-160℃;

Hot air circulation path: hot air enters from the hot air chamber on both sides of the top or bottom, and is evenly distributed to each layer through the hot air channels and air holes inside the drying box, and the moisture is discharged through the top dehumidification port.

2-3 Material Transfer System:

The material falls layer by layer along the box by its own weight and accumulates layer by layer. As the material falls and contacts with the hot air, the purpose of drying is achieved; some models are equipped with movable doors or regulating valves to control the material flow and residence time.

3.How to work of the Vertical Dryer?

3-1 Gravity drive: The material is conveyed to the top of the drying tower by the conveyor, and enters different boxes evenly from the top feed port under the action of the cloth trolley, and gradually falls down by the gravity of the finished balls, without the need for additional power;

3-2 Countercurrent/cocurrent heat exchange: The hot air forms a countercurrent (or cocurrent) contact with the material to evaporate moisture efficiently; the wet ball contacts the lower temperature hot air from the top, and as the falling height increases, the hot air temperature gradually increases until the drying reaches the required moisture.
