Rotary Drum Dryer

Rotary dryers work by tumbling material in a rotating drum in the presence of a drying air. They can also be indirectly heated to avoid direct contact between the material and processing medium. The drum is positioned at a slight horizontal slope to allow gravity to assist in moving material through the drum. As the drum rotates, lifting flights pick up the material and drop it through the air stream in order to maximize heat transfer efficiency. When working with agglomerates, the tumbling action imparted by the dryer offers the added benefit of further rounding and polishing the granules.

Based on structure different, there are two kinds of rotary dryer:

1.   Single Layer Rotary Drum Dryer

Single drum rotary dryer as know as single cylinder dryer. It is used in food, feed, fertilizer, chemical, pharmaceutical, mining industries. According to the different requirements about dryer. We have a different heat sources. For example, direct heating model hot blast stove, indirect hot blast stove, heat conduction oil, electric heating, steam, etc. This dryer is suitable for drying the material with moisture less than 65%.

Single drum rotary dryer mainly consists of heater, feeding machine, rotary drum, discharging machine, induced draft fan, unloading feeder, cyclone, odor removal equipment and power distribution cabinet form; wet materials into drying machine, will be uniformly distributed in the drum in the copy board agitator, uniform dispersion and full contact with hot air furnace. Then the wet material will be fully dried

2, Three Layer Rotary Drum Dryer

The three layer design prolongs the effective drying area without enlarging its size and length, which can efficiently enhance the drying output. Also, because of the layers of heat dissipation, it decreases heat loss and makes the dryer energy-saving. The dried material is conveyed by the draft fan through three-layer cylinder and air pipe into the separator tank and falls down, while the vapor will be expelled through the flue. This kind of dryer can realize balanced drying with short time, high efficiency and low energy-consumption.

For sawdust, we recommend our three layer rotary drum dryer, the three layer rotary dryer developed by us is heated by furnace, and the high temperature heat enters the rotary cylinder and pipe directly. On the connection of rotary cylinder and the furnace, there equipped a feeding hopper to receive the raw materials waiting for drying. The wind power from the fan sucks the raw material and heat into the rotary cylinder, and the rotary screw pieces keep rotate and turn over, force the raw material to discharge moisture under great heat. The already dried raw material will be absorbed into the pipe to be exported; while those haven't been dried will stay in the rotary cylinder and continue to be dried.
